Apple Reviews: The story of a timely pandemic that leads to memory loss

Located in a world where mysterious diseases have confused doctors, Christos Nikou apple will definitely be labeled on time when aired at the Venice Film Festival 2020 in September.


Far from being about Covid-19, though, the pandemic in the apple saw people suddenly lost their memories. After Amnesia attacked, they were included in the recovery program designed to help them re-scrap into the community and build new identities.


The protagonist is Aris, played by Aris Servetalis, whose performance becomes more sincere and affects when the story is 90 minutes playing. It was rather reminiscent of the work of the director who was nominated by Oscar Yorgos Lanthimos (which made sense because Nikou had worked with his past compatriots), but apples were much drier than lobster lanthimos and favorites.



This makes it a greater challenge for viewers. As a result, apples will not be for everyone - especially during the opening scene, because Nikou combines his slow approach with a gloomy and cold atmosphere. During these moments, the director's collaboration with Bartosz świniarski cinematographers at least ensured that this film was always visually captured, and never bathed.

Once Aris returned to his old life, everything became better interesting because of utilizing a kind of humor. This was supported by Anna's arrival (played by Sofia Georgovassili), who also had amnesia and attacked friendship with Aris.


The existential renumasi film also began giving gifts, too, as an alienation, loss and identity explored in a gentle and profound manner.

The key to the impact of growing apples is undoubtedly servetalis. Calm and unpretentious, 44-year-old picks and choose the moment to express the heart, ambition, and vulnerability of Aris. It functions to make them stronger, and immediately see it smile, laugh and even dance to be rousing as a knockout blow or Romfic Smooch in a lower film.


The Disciplined Nikou approach and the patient only adds feelings, because he subtly makes the root viewer for Ari to find a connection or something he likes.


All of this may not build the most satisfying conclusions, because Nikou goes for unclear and open separation. But it feels right considering the odd mixture of softness and absurdity used apples, and, mostly, doing.
